The VALUE COLLECTION 723-4511 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it offers good heat resistance and toughness for interrupted cuts and high-feed roughing passes. The cutter measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 3-flute, right-hand configuration. The high helix style promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Overall length is 3.75 inches with a 0.75-inch straight shank.
This roughing end mill is suited for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including steel, stainless, and cast iron. It is commonly used in job shop, maintenance, and production environments where rapid stock removal is required before a finishing pass. The 3-flute geometry provides a balance between chip clearance and cutting edge strength, making it a practical choice for both CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The right-hand flute direction and high helix angle are appropriate for climb or conventional milling in a range of workholding setups.
Designed as a standard-shank roughing end mill compatible with milling chucks, collet holders, and end mill holders accepting a 0.75-inch straight shank, as used on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, and confirm feed and speed parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cutter.
