The VALUE COLLECTION 723-4412 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention under demanding cutting conditions. The 3-flute geometry provides a balance between chip evacuation and surface contact, making it well suited for roughing passes where stock removal rate is the priority. With a 0.25 inch cutting diameter, a 1.375 inch length of cut, and a 0.375 inch shank, this tool fits standard end mill holders and collet chucks used in manual and CNC milling operations. Installation and use should be performed by machinists or tooling professionals familiar with speeds, feeds, and work-holding requirements for cobalt tooling.
This end mill is intended for roughing operations in mill and machining center applications. The high helix style promotes aggressive chip flow and reduces heat buildup during extended cuts. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional right-hand spindle setups. Its center-cutting capability allows plunge entry, giving the operator flexibility in toolpath strategy. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and pocketing in steel, stainless, and similar materials where a rough surface finish is acceptable before a finishing pass.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard 3/8 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, or milling machine spindles configured for right-hand rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Verify that the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the holder per the tool holder manufacturer specifications before engaging the workpiece. Consult applicable speeds and feeds charts for M42 cobalt tooling and the specific workpiece material before commencing any cut.
