The VALUE COLLECTION 723-4346 is a cobalt square end mill built for demanding metal cutting operations in professional machine shop and production environments. The tool features a 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch decimal) cutting diameter with a 3/4 inch length of cut and runs on a 3/16 inch shank. Constructed from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it handles higher heat and abrasion than standard HSS tooling. The bright, uncoated finish is compatible with a wide range of cutting fluids and is suitable for regrinding. A 30-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation. This is a double end mill, providing two usable cutting ends to extend tool life in production runs.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The long series designation provides extended reach for deeper pocket work and stepped-feature machining where standard-length tooling cannot access the workpiece. The four-flute configuration provides a good balance of chip clearance and surface finish, making it appropriate for finishing passes as well as light roughing in harder workpiece materials. It is typically run in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual toolroom mills by machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for 3/16 inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines accepting fractional inch tooling.
Installation requires a properly sized collet or end mill holder that accepts a 3/16 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and the tool is secured per the machine manufacturer torque guidelines before operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on small-diameter tooling. Right-hand cutting direction requires standard right-hand spindle rotation.
