The VALUE COLLECTION 723-4310 is a cobalt square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this double-end stub-length tool measures 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) in diameter with a 7/32 inch (0.2188 inch) length of cut. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The bright, uncoated finish suits a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary installers and operators of this tool.
This end mill is suited for stub-length milling work where rigidity and reduced deflection are priorities over extended reach. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between changeovers. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction follow standard CNC and manual milling conventions. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and shallow pocket milling on ferrous alloys, stainless steel, and harder workpiece materials where cobalt tooling outperforms standard high-speed steel.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for 3/16 inch shank collets and tool holders used in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines accepting fractional-inch tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tooling practices. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet or end mill holder. Confirm collet size matches the 3/16 inch shank diameter before tightening. Inspect both cutting ends for chipping or wear before each use, and never exceed the machine or tool manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for cobalt tooling.
