The VALUE COLLECTION 723-4116 is a cobalt double-end square end mill designed for metal cutting applications in machining and manufacturing environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention when cutting ferrous and harder materials. The 3/4 inch diameter cutter features 4 spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and a bright, uncoated finish. With a 1-5/8 inch length of cut and 5-5/8 inch overall length, it suits setups requiring extended reach in vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and operators of this tooling.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials where cobalt-grade tooling outperforms standard HSS. The double-end design provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between replacements. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for the majority of vertical milling setups. Center-cutting capability allows for direct plunge entry into workpieces without pre-drilling. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in standard 3/4 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-style tool holders on vertical milling machines, knee mills, and CNC machining centers accepting fractional-inch tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotary cutting tool setup. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the tool holder and verify runout before beginning a cut. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety codes when selecting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for the workpiece material.
