The VALUE COLLECTION 723-4110 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling, slotting, profiling, and peripheral cutting operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this tool delivers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS, making it well-suited for harder steels, stainless alloys, and high-temperature materials. The 3/8-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle for efficient chip evacuation. Four flutes provide a balance of cutting performance and surface finish. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous cutting. This is a double-end tool, offering two usable cutting ends to extend service life.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills found in job shops, maintenance departments, and production environments. Its fractional-inch shank diameter of 3/8 inch fits standard collets and end mill holders common in those setups. The double-end configuration is practical for production runs where maximizing tooling value is a priority. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling setups. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks on CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening to prevent pullout under load. Ensure the spindle is at a complete stop and the machine is in a locked-out, de-energized state before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation to confirm proper seating and minimize premature tool wear.
