The VALUE COLLECTION 723-4107 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling, slotting, and profiling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it offers greater heat and wear resistance than standard HSS tooling, making it well suited for harder workpiece materials and higher cutting speeds. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between changeovers. With a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The bright uncoated finish keeps the tool ready to run as delivered without any additional prep.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills across job shops, tool rooms, and maintenance facilities. It is suited for general-purpose milling applications in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials where cobalt tooling is the material-of-choice. The 9/32 inch diameter and 11/16 inch length of cut make it practical for fine slot and pocket work requiring tight tolerances. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary users in production and maintenance environments.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production end mill compatible with standard 3/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks used in vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully de-energized and locked out before loading or removing tooling. Secure the 3/8 inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, tightening to the holder manufacturer's specified torque using appropriate wrenches. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut.
