The VALUE COLLECTION 723-3909 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations requiring durability and heat resistance beyond standard high-speed steel tooling. Built from M42 cobalt steel, this single-end mill features a 13/16 inch (0.8125 inch) cutting diameter and a 1-7/8 inch length of cut. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle provides efficient chip evacuation and a stable cut in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well-suited for applications where coating compatibility or regrinding is a factor. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this type of end mill in vertical and horizontal milling machines and machining centers.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling, slotting, and peripheral cutting in shop and production environments. The 3/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in production and job-shop settings. The regular-length designation and single-end design make it a straightforward drop-in for most setups that call for a fractional-inch cobalt end mill in this size range. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into workpieces without a pre-drilled hole.
Designed as a fractional-inch cobalt square end mill for use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/4 inch shank diameter. Part of the VCCC-C-4 series of cobalt end mills in fractional inch sizing.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the collet or end mill holder per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before use, and verify runout with a dial indicator when surface finish or tolerance is critical.
