The VALUE COLLECTION 723-3905 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling flat surfaces, shoulders, slots, and profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers good hardness and heat resistance under demanding cutting conditions. The 4-flute, single-end configuration provides a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish. With a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, 1-3/8 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool suits conventional milling operations where productivity and edge life matter. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and CNC operators install and run this type of tooling in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling in job shops and production environments. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders commonly found in machining centers and knee mills. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice for applications where coolant is used and re-sharpening is anticipated. Its regular-length geometry keeps it rigid in typical shallow-to-moderate depth-of-cut operations. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock end mill for use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter. Suitable for vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers running ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop and lockout/tagout procedures applied. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended minimum engagement depth before torquing the collet or setscrew. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material being machined.
