The VALUE COLLECTION 723-3207 is a cobalt square end mill designed for metal cutting and general-purpose milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers good heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling, making it suitable for tougher ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. It measures 5/16 inch in diameter with a 3/4 inch length of cut and a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Overall length is 2.5 inches. The four-flute, spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and a smoother cut finish. Machinists and toolroom operators working on manual or CNC mills will find this a dependable single-end option for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling.
This end mill is suited for use in job shops, maintenance environments, and light-production settings where a reliable cobalt tool is preferred over carbide for interrupted cuts or setups where tool breakage risk is a concern. The bright uncoated finish keeps the tool ready to run as-delivered without any additional preparation. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge cutting directly into the workpiece, expanding its use across a wider range of milling routines including ramping and pocket entry.
Designed as a general-purpose cobalt square end mill compatible with manual and CNC milling machines accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank in a standard end mill holder or collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before mounting or changing tooling, shut down the machine spindle completely and confirm the spindle has stopped. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder with adequate pullout force and confirm runout before cutting. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier guidelines for feeds, speeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
