The VALUE COLLECTION 723-2088 is a cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous metals, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. It features a 1 inch mill diameter and a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. The M42 cobalt construction provides heat resistance for tougher workpiece materials where standard high-speed steel falls short. With a 30-degree helix and two flutes, this end mill balances chip clearance and rigidity for demanding cuts. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this configuration for roughing and semi-finishing passes in steel and alloy materials.
This end mill is a double-end design, delivering two usable cutting ends from a single tool to extend effective service life before replacement. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for applications where coating buildup could affect tolerances or where the operator prefers to run cutting lubricant. The 1 inch shank diameter fits standard collet and end mill holders in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece where the operation requires it.
Designed for use in standard 1 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and hydraulic tool holders on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer torque and runout specifications for the toolholder in use. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before loading or removing the end mill from the holder. Verify holder concentricity and seating depth before the first cut to minimize runout. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to maximize tool life.
