The VALUE COLLECTION 723-1155 is a 2-inch diameter cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and high-temperature alloy machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention that standard HSS tooling cannot match. The cutter runs with 2 flutes, a 30-degree helix angle, and a bright uncoated finish. With a 1-5/8-inch length of cut, a 1-1/4-inch shank diameter, and a 4-1/8-inch overall length, this is a regular-length, single-end tool suited to roughing and finishing passes where rigidity and chip clearance matter.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration with centercutting capability, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional side milling. Typical applications include slot milling, face milling, and shoulder milling in manual mills and CNC machining centers. Machinists and toolroom operators working in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments will find this tool appropriate for general-purpose heavy cutting in tough materials. The spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation during deep-cut operations.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch shank end mill for use in milling machines, machining centers, and CNC equipment accepting a 1-1/4-inch straight shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys per ISO material codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool holder secured before inserting or removing the end mill. Confirm shank diameter matches the collet or end mill holder before clamping. Follow the machine manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for cobalt tooling in the target workpiece material, and verify tool runout with a dial indicator after setup to maximize edge life.
