The VALUE COLLECTION 723-1128 is a cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and high-strength alloy machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance that carbon or standard HSS tooling cannot match at elevated cutting speeds. The cutter measures 1.375 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut, a 0.75-inch shank diameter, and a 4.125-inch overall length. The bright, uncoated finish is suitable for applications where coating adhesion or contamination is a concern. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working with knee mills, vertical machining centers, and manual milling machines.
This end mill is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The single-end configuration makes it a standard replacement tool in production and toolroom environments. Its regular-length geometry fits most standard tool holders and collet chucks accepting a 0.75-inch shank. Typical applications include roughing and semi-finishing passes on structural steel components, stainless fabrications, and cast iron housings where tool rigidity and edge retention under heat are required.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-style holders accepting a 0.75-inch shank diameter. Rated for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys per ISO material group codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Set tool stick-out to the minimum length required for the operation to maximize rigidity and reduce deflection. Verify holder runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on cobalt tooling.
