The VALUE COLLECTION 723-1108 is a single-end, two-flute cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and high-strength workpiece materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers the hot hardness needed to cut steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys without losing edge integrity. The mill measures 1-1/16 inches in diameter with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut and a 3/4 inch shank diameter, making it a practical choice for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on manual mills and CNC machining centers alike. The bright uncoated finish is well suited to applications where coating compatibility with cutting fluids is a consideration.
This end mill is used in job shops, maintenance machining, and production environments where operators are cutting steel, stainless, cast iron, or high-temp alloys. The regular-length geometry and 3-7/8 inch overall length fit standard tool holders and collet chucks without requiring extended-reach adapters. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral fluting follow conventional milling orientation for use on standard vertical and horizontal mill setups.
Designed for use in standard 3/4 inch collet chucks, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit tooling on vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys per material codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping before beginning the cut.
