The VALUE COLLECTION 723-1107 is a 2-flute cobalt square end mill designed for material removal and profile milling in ferrous and high-temperature alloy applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it handles steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temp alloys with consistent edge integrity at elevated cutting temperatures. The mill measures 1 inch in diameter with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut and a 4-1/8 inch overall length. The bright, uncoated finish suits operators who prefer to apply their own coatings or work in applications where coating adhesion is a concern. This is a single-end, right-hand cut tool with a 30-degree helix and spiral flutes.
This end mill is suited for conventional and climb milling operations on machining centers and manual knee mills where a 1-inch shank is accepted. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in job shop, tool room, and production environments. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temp alloys. The regular-length body keeps overhang minimal, supporting rigidity during full-depth passes in those materials.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose end mill for use in machining centers, CNC mills, and manual mills that accept a 1-inch straight shank. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temp alloy workpiece materials per ISO material codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank in a properly sized end mill holder or collet chuck, ensuring the tool is fully seated and runout is within tolerance before beginning a cut. Confirm the spindle and all machine guards are in proper working order before engaging the workpiece. Do not exceed the recommended axial depth of cut for the workpiece material and machine rigidity; consult the machine and tooling manufacturer guidelines for feed and speed selection.
