The VALUE COLLECTION 723-1033 is a cobalt square end mill designed for metal removal in milling operations on machining centers and manual mills. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end tool features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 9/16-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry. The 2-flute configuration provides efficient chip evacuation and works well in slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling applications. The bright uncoated finish is standard for cobalt tooling used across a range of ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. Machinists and tool-room technicians are the primary users of this style of end mill.
This end mill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its range of use to include plunge milling and ramp entry cuts. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders of the corresponding bore size. With a 2-5/16-inch overall length and regular-length classification, it fits into typical tool holders without requiring extended-reach setups.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The 3/8-inch shank is compatible with standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders sized for 3/8-inch bore diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tool-room technician following standard tooling change procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before changing tooling. Ensure the shank is fully seated in the tool holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder specification before resuming cuts. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, particularly after cutting hard or abrasive materials.
