The VALUE COLLECTION 723-0004 is a 4-piece cobalt end mill set configured with 4-flute, single-end, square geometry for general-purpose milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, these end mills offer elevated heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS tooling, making them suitable for harder workpiece materials and heavier chip loads. The bright uncoated finish allows for easy visual inspection of cutting edges during and after use. Diameters included are 1/4 inch, 5/16 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/2 inch. The set ships with a wood stand for organized bench storage. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this tooling.
This set is suited for milling operations on ferrous metals, stainless steels, and other difficult-to-machine materials where cobalt tooling provides a performance advantage over standard HSS. The coarse pitch and 4-flute configuration support both roughing and finishing passes in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and benchtop milling machines. The regular-length profile fits standard tool holders and collet chucks used in most shop environments. The 4-piece diameter assortment covers the most common slot, profile, and face milling sizes encountered in job shop and maintenance machining work.
Designed for use in standard milling machine collet chucks and end mill holders accepting 1/4 inch, 5/16 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/2 inch shank diameters in vertical or horizontal milling applications.
End mills should be installed by a qualified machinist familiar with proper toolholder torque procedures and runout verification. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked before changing tooling. Inspect collet and holder bores for debris or wear before seating each end mill. Never exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and tool diameter in use.
