The VALUE COLLECTION 722-3061 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is manufactured from M2 high speed steel and carries a TiN (titanium nitride) coating that improves surface hardness and extends tool life in production environments. The cutter measures 11/16 inches (0.6875 inches) in diameter with a 1-5/8 inches length of cut and a 3-3/4 inches overall length. The 5/8 inches shank diameter fits standard R8, ER, and Weldon-style toolholders common on knee mills and CNC machining centers. This tool is selected by machinists and tool-and-die professionals requiring a reliable fractional-inch end mill for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling.
The 722-3061 fits into regular-length tooling setups where reach requirements are modest and rigidity is a priority. Its four-flute configuration provides a good balance between chip evacuation and surface finish, making it suited for finishing passes and light-to-moderate material removal in steel, cast iron, and aluminum alloys. Right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard for conventional CNC and manual mill spindle rotation. This is a non-center-cutting tool, so it requires a pre-drilled hole or a ramping entry path for plunge operations.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch square end mill compatible with any milling machine toolholder accepting a 5/8 inches shank, including R8 collets, ER collet chucks, and Weldon-style side-lock holders used on knee mills, bed mills, and CNC vertical machining centers.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an e-stop state before inserting or removing the tool. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the toolholder — typically a minimum of 1 inch of shank engagement to prevent pull-out under load. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce surface finish quality.
