The VALUE COLLECTION 722-3039 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M2 high speed steel and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers solid wear resistance and extended tool life in production and maintenance shop environments. The cutter measures 7/16 inch in diameter with a 1 inch length of cut, a 3/8 inch shank diameter, and a 2-11/16 inch overall length. The 4-flute, 30-degree right-hand spiral geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish on conventional milling passes. This end mill is installed by machinists and tool-and-die technicians operating vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling cuts in light to medium duty machining setups. The 3/8 inch shank fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders commonly found in job shops and maintenance machining applications. The regular-length profile keeps it practical for shallow to medium-depth cuts without excessive overhang. It is not center-cutting, so plunge entry is not recommended; pilot holes or ramping entry should be used when full-slot milling is required.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production end mill compatible with 3/8 inch ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders used in vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the 3/8 inch shank fully in the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and reduces surface finish quality.
