The VALUE COLLECTION 722-2012 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, this tool delivers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 5/32 inches (0.1563 inches) in diameter with a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inches) length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle. It is center-cutting and right-hand cutting with a right-hand flute spiral, making it suitable for both plunge and conventional milling operations. Installation and use fall under general machining practices handled by machinists and toolroom operators.
This end mill is suited for light-duty milling work on ferrous materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, as well as high-temperature alloys. The double-end configuration extends usable tool life by providing two cutting ends per shank. With a 3/8 inch shank diameter and a 3-1/8 inch overall length, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on manual mills and CNC machining centers. The regular-length geometry keeps deflection low during slotting and profiling passes on small-scale features.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch shank end mill for use in collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/8 inch shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys per ISO material codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom operator. Secure the 3/8 inch shank firmly in a collet chuck or end mill holder, ensuring adequate engagement depth to minimize runout. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and tool diameter to avoid premature coating wear or tool breakage.
