The VALUE COLLECTION 720-9160 is a single-end, square profile end mill designed for material removal in milling operations on machining centers and manual knee mills. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it features a 0.6299-inch cutting diameter, a 1.3125-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle. The two-flute, right-hand spiral design provides efficient chip evacuation and suits slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling applications. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and N. With a 0.5-inch shank diameter and a 3.4375-inch overall length, it fits standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and tool holders sized for half-inch shanks. It is well matched for general-purpose roughing and finishing cuts where HSS tooling is preferred over carbide, particularly in lower-speed setups or on older manual machines.
Designed for use in standard 0.5-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling machine spindles accepting half-inch shank tooling. Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials per ISO groups P, M, K, and N.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an e-stop state before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder to the depth mark and torque the set screw or collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, and confirm RPM and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
