The VALUE COLLECTION 720-3207 is a 4-flute square end mill manufactured from M2 high speed steel for general-purpose milling operations. With a 5/16-inch (0.3125-inch) cutting diameter and a 3/4-inch length of cut, it handles slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright, uncoated finish makes it easy to inspect for wear. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this style of end mill when a reliable, cost-effective HSS option is needed for everyday shop work.
This end mill is suited for use in manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and benchtop milling machines where a 3/8-inch shank diameter is appropriate. The 2-1/2-inch overall length keeps the tool rigid in the spindle, reducing deflection during light-to-moderate cuts. The single-end configuration means the cutting geometry is on one end only, which is standard for most toolholding setups. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional spindle rotation. It is a practical choice for job shops, maintenance departments, and production environments running light milling passes.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch single-end square end mill with a 3/8-inch shank diameter, suitable for toolholders and collets sized for 3/8-inch straight shanks in manual and CNC milling machines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Before mounting, power down and lock out the spindle drive per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware according to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before first use, and confirm runout with a dial indicator when tolerance-critical work is planned.
