The VALUE COLLECTION 720-2185 is a double-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, profiling, and 3D surface work on metalworking machining centers and manual mills. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it delivers reliable performance across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 5/8 inch mill diameter and 1-1/8 inch length of cut suit it to moderate-depth passes where a ball nose profile is required. With a 30-degree helix angle and two right-hand spiral flutes, it provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The double-end configuration extends useful tool life by offering a second cutting end before the tool is retired.
This ball end mill is suited to general-purpose machining applications in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. It fits standard 5/8 inch diameter collets and end mill holders, making it compatible with vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC mills running right-hand cutting programs. The 4-1/2 inch overall length provides adequate clearance for most standard setups without excessive overhang. Machinists working on mold and die work, slot profiling, or curved surface finishing will find this a practical stock tool at this diameter.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock ball end mill for use in any machine tool accepting a 5/8 inch shank end mill holder or collet chuck with right-hand rotation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard tool-change procedures for the machine in use. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tool from its holder. Ensure the shank is clean and fully engaged in the collet or end mill holder to the correct depth before torquing the retention nut or drawbar. Do not exceed the recommended speed and feed parameters for M2 high speed steel at this diameter as published in standard machining data references.
