The VALUE COLLECTION 720-2064 is a double-end square end mill machined from M2 high speed steel for use in milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter with a 1-1/8-inch length of cut and a 4-1/2-inch overall length. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry and right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The bright uncoated finish means the tool is ready to run as delivered, making it a practical choice for general-purpose milling in job shop and production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling slots, pockets, profiles, and peripheral cuts in ferrous and high-temp alloy workpieces. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life before replacement. The centercutting design allows plunge milling in addition to standard lateral passes. With a 5/8-inch shank diameter matching the cutting diameter, it mounts directly in standard ER collet chucks, milling chucks, or Weldon-style holders common in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style replacement or stock end mill for use in any machine tool spindle accepting a 5/8-inch straight shank, including vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills equipped with appropriate collet or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, especially when tight tolerances are required.
