The VALUE COLLECTION 720-2016 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill manufactured from M2 high speed steel. Designed for general-purpose milling operations, it cuts with a right-hand spiral flute geometry and a 30-degree helix angle that promotes chip evacuation and smooth surface finish. The mill diameter is 0.1875 inches (3/16 inches) with a 7/16-inch length of cut, making it suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for M2 HSS tooling used in lower-speed, lower-heat cutting environments. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians working on manual mills or CNC machining centers install this tooling type.
This end mill is appropriate for use on ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temp alloys. The double-end configuration allows the operator to index to the second cutting end when the first end dulls, extending useful tool life per unit. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and milling chucks commonly found on knee mills and vertical machining centers. The regular-length body keeps deflection manageable in typical production and maintenance milling scenarios.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch collet chucks and milling tool holders on manual knee mills and CNC vertical machining centers. Compatible with workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and S (high-temp alloy).
This tooling is installed by machinists or tool-and-die technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the machine tool manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation before initiating a cut.
