The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1662 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it measures 9/64 inches (0.1406 inches) in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 3-1/8-inch overall length. The 3/16-inch shank diameter and 30-degree right-hand helix angle support chip evacuation and cutting stability in a range of CNC and manual milling setups. The double-end configuration extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Its long-length configuration provides additional reach for deeper pockets or workpiece geometries that require extended tool projection. The bright/uncoated M2 HSS construction makes it a practical choice for shops running moderate cutting speeds without coolant-through capability. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece.
Designed for use in standard 3/16-inch collets or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills; compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the 3/16-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the spindle is at a full stop before inserting or removing the tool. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended surface footage for M2 HSS on the target workpiece material.
