The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1630 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking applications. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it features a 1/32 inch (0.0313 inch) cutting diameter and a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) length of cut. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 2-1/4 inches overall length with a 3/16 inch shank diameter, this tool fits standard collet chucks used in CNC mills and manual knee mills. The double-end design extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and light plunge operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. Its small 1/32 inch diameter makes it appropriate for fine-detail work, engraving paths, and narrow slot milling where larger tooling cannot reach. Typical applications include precision mold work, die making, and small-component machining in job shops and tool rooms.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with collet systems accepting a 3/16 inch shank. Suitable for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys (ISO material codes P, M, K, and S).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 3/16 inch shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut to the machine manufacturer's specification. At 1/32 inch diameter, the tool is highly susceptible to breakage from runout — verify collet concentricity before operation and use appropriate feed and speed parameters for small-diameter HSS tooling.
