The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1600 is a double-end, square-profile end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking applications. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it features a 1/32 inch (0.0313 inch) cutting diameter and a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) length of cut. The 2-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 2 inches overall length with a 3/16 inch shank diameter, this stub-length tool fits standard collet chucks and is suited for light-profile slotting and profiling work on close-tolerance features. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users.
This end mill is designed for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, and S. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool service life on repetitive short-run jobs. The stub-length body increases rigidity, which is advantageous when milling harder ferrous materials where deflection control is critical. Typical applications include CNC machining centers and manual knee mills running standard fractional-inch tooling setups.
Designed for use in standard 3/16 inch collet chucks and tool holders on CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills that accept fractional-inch shank tooling. Suitable for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard machine shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the full recommended collet engagement depth to minimize runout and prevent tool pull-out under load. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when slotting; exceeding the 3/64 inch cutting depth can overload the flutes and cause premature breakage on this small-diameter tool.
