The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1521 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for material removal in milling operations on aluminum and non-ferrous metals. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it features a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) cutting diameter, a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, and a 1/2 inch shank diameter. The two-flute geometry supports efficient chip evacuation in softer materials, and the right-hand cutting and flute direction suits standard milling setups. This is a long-series tool, giving added reach compared to stub-length equivalents.

This end mill is suited for manual mills, CNC knee mills, and vertical machining centers where aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous workpieces are common. The bright finish is appropriate for non-ferrous applications where coating adhesion is not required and heat generation is relatively low. It is typically used by machinists and toolmakers in job shops, maintenance environments, and production cells running light-to-medium milling passes.

Compatibility

Designed for use with aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials (material code N). Compatible with any milling machine or machining center with a 1/2 inch collet, end mill holder, or equivalent tool-holding system. Not rated for ferrous or hardened material applications.

Installation Notes

Install in a 1/2 inch collet or end mill holder and torque the holder to the machine spindle per the equipment manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing or adjusting the tool. Do not use this tool on steel, cast iron, or hardened materials, as the M2 HSS construction and uncoated finish are not optimized for those applications.
