The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1503 is a single-end square end mill designed for material removal in milling operations on aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers reliable cutting performance in general-purpose machining applications. The 2-flute geometry provides efficient chip evacuation when working softer materials. With a 1/4 inch mill diameter, 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 37-degree helix angle, it suits slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling tasks where clean edge quality and chip clearance are priorities. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for milling aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. The long series design provides additional reach for deeper cavities and pockets without requiring extended-reach toolholders. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional milling setups on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills alike. The centercutting capability allows plunge milling directly into the workpiece where required. No coolant-through feature is present, so conventional flood or mist coolant applied externally is appropriate.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for milling applications involving aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Compatible with any toolholder or collet system accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists following standard toolholding procedures for end mills. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Secure the 3/8 inch shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use and replace the tool if edge integrity is compromised.
