The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1409 is a single-end ball end mill designed for machining contoured surfaces, slots, and three-dimensional profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers reliable cutting performance in general-purpose milling applications. The 3/8-inch diameter cutting edge pairs with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 2-flute spiral geometry that promotes chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard on this tool, making it compatible with conventional milling setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will find this a dependable everyday end mill for shop floor use.
This end mill suits job shops, tool rooms, and production environments where standard-reach ball nose milling is required. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits collets and end mill holders sized for that bore, and the 2-1/2-inch overall length keeps the tool in the standard-length category for reduced deflection. Typical applications include profiling, contouring, and finishing cuts on mold cavities, dies, and general machined components. It is appropriate for use on knee mills, CNC machining centers, and similar equipment where a right-hand spindle rotation is used.
Designed as a standard-reach, single-end ball end mill for use with 3/8-inch collets and end mill holders on conventional and CNC milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the 3/8-inch shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut according to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and never exceed the recommended speeds and feeds for M2 high speed steel in the material being cut.
