The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1237 is a single-end, two-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metalworking environments. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it carries a 3/4-inch cutting diameter and a 2-1/4-inch length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling passes. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. With a 3/4-inch shank diameter and 4-1/2-inch overall length, this is a standard regular-length geometry that fits common milling machine and machining center toolholders. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is intended for use on vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers in job shop, maintenance, and production settings. The M2 HSS construction and uncoated finish make it a practical choice for operators running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum or other non-ferrous materials at conventional cutting speeds. It is sold as a single-end tool, so once the cutting end is worn, the tool is replaced rather than flipped. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the typical end users in both manual and CNC applications.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling addition for milling machines and machining centers accepting a 3/4-inch straight shank via collet chuck, end mill holder, or Weldon-style holder. Suitable for workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous alloys as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Before changing tooling, de-energize the spindle and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged toolholder and tighten to the holder manufacturer's specifications using the appropriate wrench — do not use pipe extensions or impact tools on drawbars. Inspect the tool shank and flutes for chips or damage before mounting, and verify runout with a dial indicator if tight tolerances are required.
