The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1101 is a single-end, square-profile end mill ground from M2 high speed steel and supplied in a bright, uncoated finish. The 1-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1.5-inch length of cut, giving the tool sufficient reach for standard slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. Two right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a broad range of workpiece materials. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. A 0.625-inch straight shank provides positive retention in standard ER or end-mill-style holders.
This end mill is suited for job shops, maintenance machining, and production work where a general-purpose HSS tool is preferred over carbide. Rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals, it covers the material classes most commonly encountered in manual and CNC milling applications. The regular-length body keeps rigidity high in typical knee-mill and vertical machining center setups where extended reach is not required.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock end mill for standard milling machine spindles accepting a 0.625-inch straight shank, including ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders used in manual and CNC vertical milling applications.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention screw or collet nut to the holder specification before engaging the spindle. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting to ensure concentricity within acceptable limits for the operation. Always select feeds, speeds, and depth of cut appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
