The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1057 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for milling operations on a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool features a 0.6875 inch cutting diameter, a 1.3125 inch length of cut, and a 0.5000 inch shank diameter with an overall length of 3.3125 inches. The 2-flute, 30-degree helix spiral configuration supports efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. It is a centercutting design, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. Licensed machinists and toolroom operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling applications including slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follows conventional milling machine spindle rotation. Its regular-length classification and fractional inch sizing make it a standard fit for Bridgeport-style knee mills, CNC machining centers, and similar setups where a 1/2 inch collet or end mill holder is used. The uncoated finish is appropriate for lower-speed operations or where re-sharpening is anticipated.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch collets or end mill holders on conventional knee mills, manual milling machines, and CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool changer or quill locked before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the 0.5000 inch shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder and torque the retaining nut per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the workpiece.
