The VALUE COLLECTION 720-1025 is a single-end, square profile end mill designed for material removal and slotting operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. It is constructed from M2 high speed steel and carries a bright, uncoated finish. The cutter measures 5/16 inch in diameter with a 9/16 inch length of cut, a 3/8 inch shank diameter, and a 2-5/16 inch overall length. The two-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation during milling passes. This tool is suited for use in manual mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers where a general-purpose HSS end mill is appropriate.

The 720-1025 is built for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in regular-length reach applications. Its center-cutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. The fractional-inch shank sizing fits standard collets and end mill holders found throughout production and maintenance machine shops. This is a single-end tool, so the full diameter tolerance is maintained for the service life of the cutter without the option of flipping to a second end.

Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an e-stop or lockout state per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the 3/8 inch shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as a damaged HSS end mill can deflect and produce out-of-tolerance features. External coolant or cutting oil is recommended when machining steel and stainless steel to extend tool life.
