The VALUE COLLECTION 701112PR is a button socket cap screw designed for applications requiring a low-profile fastener head with a hex socket drive. It features a 1/4-20 UNC thread and a 3-1/4 inch length under the head, constructed from alloy steel with a black oxide coating for moderate corrosion resistance and reduced light reflection. The 5/32 hex socket drive accepts a standard hex key for installation and removal. Hardness is rated at 36-43 HRC, meeting ANSI/ASME B18.3 and ASTM F835 standards. This fastener is fully threaded and suited for mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and equipment panels where flush or near-flush clearance is required.
The 701112PR is used in general industrial and mechanical applications where a conventional hex head would interfere with adjacent components or enclosures. The button head profile keeps the fastener seated close to the mating surface, making it a practical choice for machine guards, panel mounting, jigs, and tooling fixtures. Installers in HVAC equipment assembly, electrical enclosure fabrication, plumbing equipment mounting, and light structural work commonly use this style of fastener. The right-hand UNC thread engages standard tapped holes and threaded inserts without modification.
Designed for use in standard 1/4-20 UNC tapped holes and threaded inserts conforming to ANSI/ASME thread standards. Suitable as a direct replacement for any ANSI/ASME B18.3 and ASTM F835 compliant button socket cap screw of the same thread and length specification.
Installation requires a 5/32 inch hex key or hex socket driver. Ensure the mating threaded hole is clean and free of debris before driving the fastener. Apply appropriate thread lubricant or thread locker as required by the assembly specification. Do not exceed the torque rating specified by the equipment manufacturer or applicable engineering standard for 1/4-20 alloy steel fasteners.
