The VALUE COLLECTION 700-007202 is a rectangular tungsten carbide blank designed for cutting tool fabrication, tool reconditioning, and toolroom applications. Supplied unground, this blank allows machinists and tool grinders to shape and finish the cutting geometry to exact specifications. The blank measures 1 inch long, 9/16 inch wide, and 1/4 inch thick, with a material grade of C2 (Industry Grade I-22, Series 1000). The C2 carbide grade is well suited for general-purpose machining of cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and non-metallic materials at moderate cutting speeds.
This carbide blank is used in toolroom and production environments where custom cutting tools, form tools, boring bars, and lathe tool bits need to be fabricated or reground in-house. It is appropriate for job shops, maintenance machining departments, and apprentice training setups. The unground condition means it arrives ready for surface grinding or EDM shaping to the required tool geometry.
Designed as a general-purpose unground carbide blank for use in custom cutting tool fabrication across standard toolroom applications conforming to Industry Specification 1390, Series 1000.
Carbide blanks are shaped and finished by qualified tool grinders or machinists using diamond grinding wheels rated for tungsten carbide. Secure workholding is required during grinding to prevent chipping or cracking of the blank. Eye protection and appropriate dust controls are mandatory when grinding carbide. Handle finished carbide tools with care to avoid edge chipping prior to use.
