The VALUE COLLECTION 6CUTMAS1 is a 6D cut-shank masonry nail designed for fastening wood, framing, and furring strips to concrete, block, and masonry surfaces. Manufactured from Grade 2 steel, it measures 2 inches in overall length and features a cut shank profile that provides enhanced holding power in hard substrates. This nail is driven with a hammer and is a standard choice for contractors and carpenters working on concrete formwork, sill plate attachment, and similar masonry-contact applications where reliable mechanical bite is required.
This nail is suited for residential and light commercial construction tasks where fasteners must penetrate or anchor into concrete, brick, mortar, or concrete block. Typical applications include attaching wood sleepers to concrete slabs, securing furring strips to masonry walls, and fastening bottom plates to concrete floors. The 6D penny size and 2-inch length make it appropriate for light-to-medium holding tasks in these substrates.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for masonry nail applications requiring a 6D cut-shank fastener in concrete, block, brick, or mortar substrates.
Masonry nails are installed by carpenters and general contractors using a steel hammer. Always wear eye protection when driving cut nails into masonry, as chips and fragments can dislodge. Pre-drilling a pilot hole in dense concrete is recommended to reduce nail deflection and splitting. Follow applicable building codes, including IBC fastener schedule requirements, when used in structural or sill-plate connections.
