The VALUE COLLECTION 6CB11/2 is a threaded pipe end cap designed to close off the terminal end of a 1-1/2-inch pipe run. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, it offers strong resistance to corrosion and is suited for use in demanding environments including chemical exposure, salt water, and high-moisture installations. The female NPT (FNPT) threaded connection provides a secure, leak-resistant seal when properly torqued with thread sealant. Rated to 150 psi, this cap is appropriate for low-to-moderate pressure piping systems. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting during system testing, capping unused branch lines, or permanently closing off pipe terminations.
This end cap is used in residential and commercial piping applications where a clean, durable pipe termination is required. Typical installations include process piping, potable water systems, chemical lines, marine plumbing, and food-service environments where 316 stainless steel is specified for its elevated corrosion resistance over standard 304 grade. It threads directly onto a male NPT pipe end and is suitable for use with Schedule 40 and compatible pipe configurations in either horizontal or vertical orientations.
Designed as a standard FNPT threaded end cap for 1-1/2-inch male NPT pipe ends in 150 psi-rated piping systems where 316 stainless steel material is required.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC and local mechanical code requirements. Shut down and depressurize the piping system fully before removing or installing any end cap. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before threading on the cap to ensure a leak-free seal. Do not over-tighten; use a pipe wrench with proper jaw protection to avoid damaging the stainless steel fitting.
