The Value Collection 6BN1/8*5 is a welded stainless steel pipe nipple designed for use in piping systems that require corrosion-resistant threaded connections. Manufactured from Grade 316 and 316L stainless steel, this nipple offers superior resistance to chlorides and harsh process environments compared to standard 304-grade fittings. Built to Schedule 40 wall thickness with a 1/8 inch pipe size, it is suited for low-flow lines carrying liquids, gases, or steam where a compact, durable threaded fitting is required. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of nipple as part of instrument takeoffs, gauge connections, chemical feed lines, and similar small-bore piping assemblies.
This pipe nipple fits into residential and commercial piping applications where 1/8 inch NPT threaded connections are specified. Typical uses include instrument sensing lines, pressure gauge ports, chemical injection points, and small-bore process connections. The 316 and 316L dual-grade material certification makes it appropriate for mildly corrosive service, marine environments, and food-adjacent process lines where a low-carbon stainless alloy is preferred to minimize sensitization risk in welded assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/8 inch NPT threaded piping systems requiring Schedule 40 stainless steel pipe nipples in Grade 316 or 316L material.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes such as the International Plumbing Code or ASME B31.3 for process piping. Shut off and depressurize the line fully before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Use an appropriate thread sealant rated for the service fluid and compatible with stainless steel; avoid over-tightening, which can crack or gall stainless threads. Inspect threads for damage before installation and do not use the fitting if threads are deformed.
