The VALUE COLLECTION 601298PR is a cup point set screw designed for mechanical assemblies requiring secure, vibration-resistant fastening without a protruding head. Manufactured from alloy steel, this screw measures 7/16-14 UNC thread by 1-3/4 inches in overall length and is driven by a 7/32-inch hex key. The cup point digs into the mating surface to resist rotation and axial movement, making it well suited for locking shafts, collars, and hubs in place. It conforms to ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F912 standards. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance mechanics are the typical installers of this fastener type.
This set screw is used in a wide range of industrial and mechanical applications including shaft collars, shaft couplings, pulleys, gears, and sprockets. It is appropriate for both light manufacturing and heavy equipment maintenance environments where a headless fastener is required to sit flush with or below the surface of the part. The UNC thread form makes it compatible with standard inch-dimensioned tapped holes. Minimum order quantity is 100 pieces.
Designed as a standard inch-series headless set screw for use in any application requiring a 7/16-14 UNC tapped hole and 1-3/4-inch engagement depth.
Installation is performed with a 7/32-inch hex key or Allen wrench. Ensure the tapped hole is clean and free of debris before threading. De-energize or lock out any rotating machinery before installing or removing set screws per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Do not exceed the rated torque range for the fastener grade; consult the applicable ASME standard for torque guidance.
