The VALUE COLLECTION 56076 is a general-purpose alloy steel threaded rod measuring 36 inches in overall length with a 3/8-16 UNC right-hand thread profile. Manufactured to ASTM A193 Grade B7 standards, this rod features a black oxide finish that provides a baseline level of corrosion resistance. At 0.879 pounds, it is well suited for use as a hanger, fastener, or structural tie in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations. Trade professionals use threaded rod of this type to suspend conduit, ductwork, pipe, and equipment from structural members in commercial and residential construction. The black oxide finish is appropriate for dry and semi-dry indoor environments.
This threaded rod is used in a wide range of trade applications including HVAC duct hangers, plumbing pipe supports, electrical conduit support systems, and general mechanical fastening. The 3/8-16 UNC thread size is one of the most common in North American trade work, making it compatible with standard hex nuts, coupling nuts, and threaded inserts widely available from plumbing, electrical, and HVAC supply houses. It is appropriate for both residential and light commercial installations where B7 alloy steel meets the load requirements.
Designed as a general-purpose threaded rod compatible with standard 3/8-16 UNC nuts, couplings, threaded inserts, and beam clamps used in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical support systems.
Installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians, pipefitters, plumbers, or electricians depending on the application. Cut the rod to length using a reciprocating saw, hacksaw, or angle grinder, and dress the cut end with a thread die to restore the thread profile before assembly. Torque all mating hardware in accordance with the fastener manufacturer specifications and applicable codes such as the IPC, IMC, or NEC. Verify that the rod grade and diameter meet the load requirements specified in the project design before installation.
