The VALUE COLLECTION 533122PR is a metric cup point set screw designed for secure, tamper-resistant fastening in mechanical assemblies. It features an M8 x 1.25 thread profile with an overall length of 45 mm, manufactured from alloy steel to Grade 14.9 (45H) for high tensile and torsional strength. The cup point geometry bites into the mating surface to resist rotation and axial movement without requiring a through-hole. Drive engagement is via a 4 mm hex key socket. This fastener conforms to DIN 916 and is suited for use by millwrights, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assemblers working with metric-standard machinery.
Cup point set screws of this grade and thread size are commonly used to secure pulleys, collars, gears, and hubs to shafts in industrial and commercial equipment. The Grade 14.9 (45H) alloy steel construction makes this fastener appropriate for high-load or vibration-prone applications where standard steel grades would be insufficient. Typical installations include conveyor systems, drive assemblies, and rotary equipment where shaft-to-hub retention is critical.
Designed as a DIN 916 standard metric cup point set screw for use in any M8 x 1.25 threaded bore requiring a high-strength Grade 14.9 (45H) fastener.
Installation requires a 4 mm hex key or hex bit driver. Ensure the threaded bore is clean and free of debris before seating the screw. De-energize and lock out any rotating equipment before installing or removing set screws on live shafts. Do not exceed the torque capacity of the alloy steel grade by using extension bars or impact drivers on the hex socket.
