The VALUE COLLECTION 516138 is a cylinder-shaped mounted polishing bob designed for precision surface finishing and polishing applications. Constructed from medium-density wool felt, this bob delivers consistent cut and finish on metals, plastics, and similar materials. The 1/4-inch shank diameter fits standard die grinders, rotary tools, and flex-shaft machines commonly used in metalworking, toolmaking, and fabrication shops. With a maximum diameter of 1-1/2 inches and a head length of 1-1/2 inches, it provides adequate contact area for controlled polishing on contoured and flat surfaces. Machinists, tool grinders, and metal finishers reach for this style of mounted bob when fine surface work demands uniform pressure and material removal.
This mounted polishing bob is suited for bench grinder setups, handheld rotary tools, and machining center finishing operations in both shop and field environments. Typical applications include deburring, light stock removal, and final polishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The cylinder profile allows access to slots, bores, and flat faces where conforming contact with the workpiece is important. It is sold individually and is a practical consumable stocked in fabrication, toolroom, and industrial maintenance environments.
Designed for use with rotary tools, die grinders, and flex-shaft machines accepting a 1/4-inch shank; verify collet or chuck size before mounting.
Always power down and unplug or de-energize the rotary tool or die grinder before mounting or removing the bob. Secure the shank fully into the collet or chuck to the recommended engagement depth per the tool manufacturer. Inspect the felt bob for damage or uneven wear before each use, and do not exceed the maximum RPM rating of the tool or accessory. Eye protection and appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn during all polishing and grinding operations.
