The VALUE COLLECTION 5-690-005 is a convex radius cutter designed for milling concave profiles and contoured surfaces in metalworking applications. It features a 1/32 inch radius and a 3/4 inch cutter diameter, with a 1/2 inch shank diameter for secure tool holder engagement. The cutter is manufactured from high speed steel and left uncoated, making it well suited for general-purpose milling on a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With 6 teeth and a 3 inch overall length, it delivers consistent chip load and smooth surface finish on radius forms. A Weldon flat on the shank prevents slippage under cutting loads. Machinists and tool and die makers install this cutter on manual or CNC milling machines.
This convex radius cutter is used in job shop machining, tool and die work, and maintenance machining environments where precise concave radius profiles are required. It is appropriate for light to medium material removal on steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials. The 1/16 inch circle diameter and 1/32 inch radius geometry suit applications requiring fine, accurate form milling where a tight contour tolerance is critical. It fits standard milling machine spindles and tool holders accepting a 1/2 inch shank with Weldon flat drive.
Designed as a standard shank-mount convex radius cutter fitting any milling machine tool holder or collet chuck accepting a 1/2 inch diameter shank with Weldon flat connection.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. A qualified machinist should secure the Weldon flat against the set screw in the tool holder to the appropriate holder specification before operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation and before cutting. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain surface finish quality.
