The VALUE COLLECTION 48087 is a stainless steel closet supply line designed to connect the water supply to a toilet tank. It features a 3/8 inch compression inlet and a 7/8 inch ballcock outlet, covering the most common toilet rough-in connection pairing in residential and light commercial plumbing. At 9 inches in length, it is suited for installations where the supply stop is positioned close to the base of the tank. The braided stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance and durability under standard service conditions. Licensed plumbers and experienced DIYers install this type of line during toilet replacements, stop valve swaps, or when upgrading aging supply connections.
This supply line is used in toilet installations where the existing or new stop valve has a 3/8 inch compression fitting and the toilet fill valve uses a standard 7/8 inch ballcock shank. The 9 inch length is appropriate for tight wall-to-toilet configurations typical in residential bathrooms and commercial restrooms with close-coupled rough-in dimensions. It is sold individually, making it practical for single-fixture service calls or straightforward toilet replacements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement supply line for toilets equipped with a standard 7/8 inch ballcock fill valve shank and served by a 3/8 inch compression stop valve.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified individual in accordance with local IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply at the stop valve and flush the toilet to relieve pressure in the tank before disconnecting the existing supply line. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the stop valve first, then snug with a wrench — avoid over-torquing, which can crack the nut or deform the ferrule. Inspect both connection points for drips after restoring water supply and confirm the fill valve cycles correctly before leaving the installation.
