The VALUE COLLECTION 440033 is a 1/4-20 UNC hex lock nut featuring an expanding flex top design in 18-8 stainless steel. The flex top expands under torque to create a secure, vibration-resistant lock without a separate nylon insert, making it suitable for applications where nylon inserts are restricted by temperature or chemical exposure. At 19/64 inches high and uncoated, this nut delivers corrosion resistance inherent to 18-8 stainless. It meets MIL-S-7742 military specifications. Each package contains 25 nuts. Licensed electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mechanical contractors use this fastener when assembling equipment panels, brackets, and structural connections requiring a reliable, reusable locking thread.
This nut is suited for light-to-medium fastening applications in residential and commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing assemblies. Designed as a standard 1/4-20 UNC hex lock nut for use with any 1/4-20 UNC threaded bolt or stud requiring a locking fastener in trade mechanical, electrical, or plumbing assemblies.
Install and remove using a standard hex wrench or nut driver sized for a 1/4-20 hex nut. De-energize all electrical circuits and shut off fluid systems before working on any assembly where fasteners are being replaced or tightened. The flex top locking feature is reusable but should be inspected for deformation after repeated removal cycles. Follow applicable codes — NEC, IPC, or IFGC as relevant to the assembly type — for fastener material and torque requirements.
