The VALUE COLLECTION 438-166 is a Schedule 40 PVC pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/4 inch line down to a 1/2 inch female threaded connection. It features a slip (spigot) inlet and a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) outlet, allowing it to be solvent-welded into a socket fitting on the larger end while threading onto a male-threaded fitting on the smaller end. PVC construction makes it suitable for cold and hot water distribution, irrigation, and general-purpose low-pressure piping systems. Plumbers and pipefitters install this bushing where a reduction in pipe diameter is needed without adding a separate coupling and adapter.
