The Value Collection 3GBC910C0300 is a 5/8-11 UNC carriage bolt with a 3-inch length under head and a standard square neck designed to resist rotation during installation. Manufactured from 1006-1050 grade steel and finished with a galvanized zinc plating for corrosion resistance, this fully threaded fastener is suited for structural and mechanical assembly work across a wide range of trade applications. The square neck seats flush into pre-drilled square or round holes in wood and light structural members, allowing the nut to be tightened from one side without additional tooling to hold the bolt head.
This carriage bolt is used in general construction, framing, dock building, fencing, and equipment mounting where a smooth, rounded head profile is required on the finished face. The galvanized zinc-plated finish provides a baseline level of corrosion protection appropriate for indoor and sheltered outdoor installations. Tradespeople in construction, electrical infrastructure, and general contracting commonly use this fastener when assembling lumber-to-lumber or lumber-to-metal connections that require a tamper-resistant clamping solution.
Designed as a standard ASME B18.5 carriage bolt compatible with 5/8-11 UNC hex nuts and washers used in general construction and structural assembly applications.
Installation is typically performed by construction tradespeople or general contractors using a standard wrench or socket on the nut side while the square neck seats into the material to prevent bolt rotation. Pre-drill a round hole sized to the bolt diameter to allow the square neck to draw flush as the nut is tightened. Do not overtighten in soft wood substrates, as the square neck can pull through the material. Follow applicable building codes and fastener specifications for structural connections.
