The VALUE COLLECTION 392 is a nylon panel rivet with a ratchet shank designed for securing panels and trim in place without tools or hardware beyond the rivet itself. The ratchet shank design allows the fastener to lock into a panel by hand, making it well suited for rapid installation and removal cycles. At 0.25 inches in hole diameter and 1 inch in head diameter, the 392 provides a broad clamping surface relative to its hole size. The length under the head measures 1.125 inches. Molded from nylon in black, this rivet resists corrosion and is non-conductive, making it a practical choice for automotive, HVAC panel, electrical enclosure, and general sheet-panel assembly work.
This rivet is used in applications where panels, covers, or trim pieces need to be held in place with a push-in fastener. Typical installations include HVAC equipment access panels, electrical enclosure trim, automotive interior panels, and similar light-duty panel retention tasks. The hand-installable ratchet shank eliminates the need for a rivet gun, making it useful in tight spaces or during field service work. Each package contains 25 pieces.
Designed as a general-purpose push-in panel fastener for any application requiring a 0.25 inch hole diameter ratchet-shank nylon rivet.
Installation does not require special tools — align the rivet with the prepared 0.25 inch hole and press the shank through until the ratchet teeth engage. For HVAC or electrical panel applications, power down the equipment before servicing access panels or enclosures per applicable NFPA 70 lockout-tagout requirements. Removal typically requires a flathead screwdriver or panel clip removal tool to disengage the ratchet teeth without damaging the panel. Do not overdrive or force the shank past its rated engagement depth, as nylon ratchet shanks can shear under excessive load.
